INTERDISCIPLINARY INTEGRATION OF EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT INTO HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION (INTEGRATED ESP CASE STUDY)

چکیده

The article explores the issue of interdisciplinary integration education for sustainable development (ESD) into educational process a higher institution (HEI). potential possibilities subject "Foreign language" in formation competences have been revealed.
 experimental study was conducted with first-year students following undergraduate programs: "Primary Education", "Preschool "Speech Therapy, Special Psychology", "Psychology" at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University. initial level competencies beginning experiment revealed 18.75% high level, 51.79% – average and 29.46% low. Hereby, need to improve quality researched object established.
 ESP learner needs analysis on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) confirmed students’ eagerness learn them university course, designed order address main lacks, wants relatively integrated language learning. In accordance questionnaire findings cooperation Foreign Languages Department English teachers there were outlined content education, goals learning, methods means that contribute chosen SDGs by as medium instruction.
 implied application framework learning (CLIL) working English-language texts about development, discussing acute issues, studying normative documents, scientific methodical works watching video fragments their further discussion. methodology presupposed learners’ group work, project activities, facilitation interactive technologies.
 It established foreign an emphasis sustainability contributes increasing competencies: control stage study, twice many demonstrated compared ascertainment stage. Observation proves increase students' motivation improvement studied phenomenon.
